In 1883, the church of Apostolos Andreas was constructed via the voluntary labour of the community’s residents over the course of twelve (12) years.
It served as a cemetery until 1912, when it was replaced by the current structure.
The church was constructed in the Gothic style in 1890 and is renowned for its iconostasis made of carved wood.
The church’s original bell, which weighed 100 kilogrammes and had a lavish adornment and lyrical tone, was of Russian origin and could be heard 15 kilometres away.
The Temple holds celebrations on September 20 and November 30.
